We have stopped here several times over the last few years. The service and food are always great. It is especially fun to venture through the park and end up here for lunch during the winter. Leo and Jan are great. Stop in and tell them hi and support their local business.

The food was served on styrofoam plates and cups, the building is old, but run down, and the food was not that good and pre cooked a lot earlier. The service? Kind of cranky, I had to go outside to find her for the bill while she was talking to someone. We won't be going back at all!!!

CAN'T SPEAK FOR THE BEDS JUST THE BUNS In wanting something easy to pack for a day in the parks, the BF and I wandered into this little deli. Luckily they sold sandwiches - a day hiker's food friend. We decided to get a whole Roast Beef Sandwich. Great service = in anticipating us sharing the sandwich, the owner not only cut it in half, but he cut each of those pieces in half again. Excellent for sharing. Included was a plastic bag filled with crunchy, oily, Potato Chips. While the Sandwich Bread (French) was good, the mixture of ingredients inside didn't mesh well together. The Iceburg Lettuce- although there wasn't a lot of it-- totally overwhelmed all ingredients and therefore delivered a rather bland flavor. The Mushrooms were just regular white ones that got completely overwhelmed with all the other ingredients. The hints of Horseradish Sauce were great. Not too strong. For the price of a whole sub ($15+) I thought this was a bit on the high side especially with the dubious results. BUT GREAT FRIENDLY SERVICE The owner and his wife prepared our food for us and since there was no one else around during the early afternoon we had time to chat. Just a quick glance at the interior décor reveals a shrine to the Pittsburg Steelers with every flat surface decorated with Steelers fandom.

I would give this place no stars if I could! Booked a 3 night stay here for Martin Luther King weekend due to everywhere else being booked. The owner told me we would only be charged $65/night and when we were rung up upon check in we were charged $82/night! I began thinking about it as we drove our sleds to the room where the owner was going to show us how to use the heater. The door was closed with a padlock and was so rickety that it could have easily been broken down with with a quick shove of your hand. The couch had a lot of stains and my boyfriend refused to sit down on the bed or the couch in the room it was so bad. The bathroom held even more surprises for us. The shower was smaller than one that a person would find in a 1970's travel trailer and the ceiling tiles were crumbling from the amount of water damage. Thankfully there was a cancellation at a neighboring hotel and we booked that room. After finding a different hotel, we went back to the owner to let them know that we would not be staying there. The owner seemed very irritated and told me he would only be able to refund the middle night as he could've rented it out to someone else (after they had told us earlier they had another room open). Then he only refunded us 71.50 and I had to argue with him that that is NOT what we had paid per night until he finally gave me another $10.25. We got all of our stuff out of the room shortly after and when we went to take the padlock key back, the wife was there. She wanted to know why we didn't want to stay there and when I told her it was different than we had expected she was very angry and claimed that she had told me they had no tvs or telephones in the room. While she did say that when we originally booked the room, that in NO WAY covers what we were met with when we saw the room. When I told her that according to her husband that we had been charged the incorrect rate she argued with me that he already refunded us. I said yes, for the one night but not for the overage we were charged for the other nights. After arguing for 5-10 minutes she finally relented as I was not about to pay any more than absolutely necessary for a room that I wasn't staying in after having to shell out $145.00 along with another hotel room fee. DO NOT STAY HERE!

I have to give this place 4 stars for being cool in an unexpected place. Cooke City lies just outside the northeast entrance of Yellowstone, and it's the closest place to get gas if you don't buy it from inside the park. We of course, expected it would be cheaper than inside the park, which was incorrect. But Beds N Buns was just across the street, and we needed lunch. They have a variety of delicious deli sandwiches, kind of standard fare but usually with a twist, like really delicious honey mustard, or fun bread, something like that. Meats are fresh cut, and malts and ice cream are available - my butterscotch malt was quite good. The catch is that this is an awesome place to catch a ball game, from all appearances. It's very obviously a Pittsburgh Steelers bar (owner grew up in Pennsylvania, from taking to the people working). There's a fantasy draft chart hanging on the bar, tons of Steelers stuff, and a couple flat screen TVs. No question - this is where I would be on Mondays and Sundays to catch some NFL. The owners are very friendly, inquiring politely about where we were coming from/headed, and shared the story of their deli - so I can imagine everyone in town being well known and welcome.

Stopped in on our way to Yellowstone, and we were blown away by the BBQ sausage and the cheddar bomb burger. The sausage came with a side of beans and potato salad that were definitely homemade and delicious! We ended up talking about the meal the rest of our trip.

Cheddar bomb burger was delicious, the ribs looked phenomenal too. Great stop on your way in or out of the park!
